[embedded content] Two D.C. police officers have been taken off the streets and put on desk duty after they were caught on video disparaging a crime victim and appearing to misbehave at the scene of a burglary. Authorities said the 7th District officers are targets of an internal investigation that began after a man returned home from a trip earlier this month and watched his private surveillance video of a burglary that occurred Aug. 8 and left his apartment ransacked. The video shows not only a man using a rock to shatter a rear glass door but also the officers who came to investigate. Twice, one officer appears to break out into a brief jig while another officer can be heard commenting that the victim “is probably gay.” That is followed by laughter. The Patterson man killed in a motorcycle crash during a fundraising ride Saturday south of Merced has been identified as Jason Williams, 40. Williams joined the ride with friends to raise money to help two Los Banos police officers injured in a shooting. A gofundme memorial fund established in his name says he is survived by his wife, two school-age children and a daughter in college. “It speaks volumes of his character, you know, for him to drive outside of Los Banos to be there just to be there for the cause,” Monica Gallagher, organizer of the benefit ride, told ABC 30 news in Fresno. ARLINGTON, VA — An Arlington man has been arrested for Wednesday morning's shooting on South Frederick Street that left one man seriously injured. Nicholas Nichols, 24, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding , Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. The shooting happened at about 7:04 a.m. in the 1000 block of South Frederick St ., near Columbia Grove apartments , police said. The investigation determined that the shooting occurred after an altercation between known acquaintances. Arriving officers located a 26-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound and transported him to George Washington University Hospital . Pensacola Police Department officers responded to the Jamestown Estates on Summit Boulevard around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday after a bystander heard what they described as a gunshot. PPD spokesman Mike Wood said an adult man was found deceased from an apparent gunshot wound in the parking lot area of the complex. The Little Rock Police Department says the body of Billy Thornton, 64, of Little Rock, was found inside an apartment at the Spring Valley complex on Tuesday evening . The LRPD incident report states that Thornton had suffered multiple gunshot wounds . The police report notes an incident time of 9 a.m. Tuesday and shows the arrival of officers on the scene at 7:20 in the evening. This is the third homicide at the complex this year.
