Name Released of Man Found Shot to Death in LR Apartment

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Police have released the name of the victim in the city's latest homicide.

The Little Rock Police Department says the body of Billy Thornton, 64, of Little Rock, was found inside an apartment at the Spring Valley complex on Tuesday evening.

The LRPD incident report states that Thornton had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

The police report notes an incident time of 9 a.m. Tuesday and shows the arrival of officers on the scene at 7:20 in the evening.

This is the third homicide at the complex this year.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) is on the scene of a homicide at Spring Valley Apartments Tuesday evening.

The victim is described as a black male believed to be in his 60s. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police were originally called to the scene around 7:20 p.m. in regard to a suicide. Police say the call came in to dispatch from a "friend" of the victim.

When they arrived on scene, they said they quickly determined it was a homicide. 

Drugs are not suspected to be involved in the incident.

The apartments are located in the 8700 block of I-30. There was a double homicide at this same apartment complex in March of this year.

This is the 31st homicide so far in Little Rock this year.

A Felton woman has become the second victim of a deadly fire that swept the Woodcrest Arms apartment complex June 6 . Jeff Brown, News Editor A second victim of the June 6 fire at Woodcrest Arms apartment complex has died. Christina Lynn Taylor , 33, of Cedar Grove Church Road , Felton, died the afternoon of June 7 while at Crozier Chester Burn Center , Chester, Pa., said Dover Police Capt . Tim Stump. Taylor and her boyfriend had been at the apartments to help a relative move, Stump said.
