Park Ridge police: Man accused of stealing $620 worth of items from grocery store

The following items were taken from the Park Ridge Police Department bulletin. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Theft

•Jasen M. Quinn, 34, of the 1700 block of Pavilion Way, Park Ridge, was charged with retail theft on Aug. 9, police said. According to police, security at Mariano's, 1900 S. Cumberland Ave., recognized Quinn as the suspect in a retail theft that occurred two days earlier. Police said the store reported that $620 worth of merchandise was stolen in that incident. Quinn was given a Sept. 20 court date.

•Keith Menke, 44, of the 1700 block of North Kedvale, Chicago, was charged with retail theft on Aug. 12 after police said he was accused of stealing $202 worth of baby formula from Mariano's, 1900 S. Cumberland Ave. He was given a Sept. 19 court date.

DUI

•Donald P. Ericksen, 34, of the 2000 block of Glenview Avenue, Park Ridge, was charged with driving under the influence on Aug. 7, police said. He was taken into custody on the 700 block of Hamlin Avenue at 5:40 p.m. and given a Sept. 17 court date.

Failure to Report an Accident

•Arthur Krivenko, 19, of the 9100 block of Stevenson Drive, unincorporated Maine Township, was charged with failure to report an accident, failure to give aid or information, driving an uninsured vehicle and improper lane usage on Aug. 7, police said.

Ruse Entry

•An 85-year-old man discovered that someone had entered the second floor of his home and looked through drawers and other areas of the bedrooms on Aug. 7, police said. According to police, a man came to the resident's home claiming to be installing a fence in a neighbor's yard. He then entered the house, police said. The resident reported seeing only one person, but police believe a second individual entered the house and looked through the bedrooms while the resident was distracted. Nothing was reported missing at the time of the report, police said.

Burglary

•Someone attempted to enter the golf cart barn at the Park Ridge Country Club, 636 N. Prospect Ave., between Aug. 9 and Aug. 10, police said.

Suspicious Incident

•Someone was seen looking through the rear window of a home on the 1400 block of Lois Court around 1 a.m., Aug. 4, police said.

•Police were called after a passerby reported seeing a man in a gray car interacting with a child in the parking lot of Jewel-Osco, 481 Busse Highway. According to police, officers located a car matching the description and determined that the occupant had been handing out "religious literature" and that no crime had been committed or attempted.

•Police were contacted after a man was seeing approaching the front door of a house on the 2300 block of Edna Avenue and taking a picture with his cellphone around 6 p.m. Aug. 9.

Theft

•A variety of over-the-counter medications were reported stolen July 30 from Mariano's, 1900 S. Cumberland Ave., police said.

•A bicycle was reported stolen Aug. 6 from the basement of an apartment on the 1900 block of Parkside Drive.

Burglary to Vehicle

•An unlocked car was burglarized overnight between Aug. 5 and Aug. 6 while parked on the 1600 block of South Washington Avenue, police said.
