Gunshot heard, body found at Pensacola apartment complex

Pensacola police have determined the body found at an apartment complex Wednesday night was the result of a suicide.

Pensacola Police Department officers responded to the Jamestown Estates on Summit Boulevard around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday after a bystander heard what they described as a gunshot.

PPD spokesman Mike Wood said an adult man was found deceased from an apparent gunshot wound in the parking lot area of the complex. On Thursday morning, he confirmed the death was determined to be self-inflicted.

Officials have not released the name of the man involved.
