A gun was stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight Saturday , and two other vehicle break-ins were reported along the same street, according to Greenville Police Department case reports . A Greenville man reported Sunday that his vehicle had been broken into, and a  Springfield Armory XDM .40 caliber handgun, valued at $500, and two handgun magazines with 26 .40 caliber rounds, valued at $575, were stolen. The theft reportedly occurred between 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and 6 a.m. on Sunday in the 2900 block of Cedar Creek Road . Police spokeswoman Kristen Hunter said the doors were left unlocked. The case remains under investigation. Officers are looking into whether the case might be linked to two other vehicle break-ins that occurred during the weekend on the same street, according to Hunter. The other two cases also occurred in the 1900 block of Cedar Creek. Nothing was stolen and there was no damage to the vehicle in an incident that occurred between 11 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m....

Officers said the incident occurred at the CreekWood Apartments in the 8300 block of South 77th East Avenue just before 1 a.m. Police said two men wearing masks and dark clothing approached the victim outside his apartment and demanded his wallet, cell phone and car keys. Officers said after getting the victim's wallet and phone, the pair ran south and away from the complex near Memorial. Officers searched the area but could not find the two men. They said the victim was not injured in the robbery.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Authorities in North Carolina say they anticipate charging a 34-year-old woman with first-degree murder after a " domestic incident " on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's campus left her 5-year-old son dead. Orange County District Attorney Jim Woodall says Ebony Oluwaseva, 34, will be charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. She is hospitalized with injuries she suffered in the Sunday morning attack . Her husband, 32-year-old Victor Oluwasegva, was injured in the incident but is expected to recover. The deceased child hasn 't been named. The violence occurred shortly after midnight in a single- family residence at the Baity Hill family housing community . A 56-year-old Newport News man is receiving treatment after being shot in the elbow and buttocks area at the Aqueduct Apartment complex in Newport News on Thursday morning , officials said.  The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. when gunshots were heard on Giovanni Court inside the apartment complex , according to Newport News Master Police Officer Brandon Maynard .  The victim was approached by the suspect while sitting in his car. The suspect asked the man for what he had and words were exchanged before the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the man, police said. The victim was able to drive to a nearby hospital where police were called shortly before 2:10 a.m. He was later transferred to another hospital for treatment of his gunshot wounds. The victim's status is unknown at this time, Maynard said. A transgender woman was found shot and killed early Monday morning outside of a College Park apartment complex . Atlanta resident TeeTee Dangerfield , 32, was found with multiple gunshot wounds outside of her vehicle at the South Hampton Estates apartment complex on July 31 at about 4:30 a.m., according to the College Park Police Department . Major Lance Patterson told Georgia Voice that College Park Fire Rescue took Dangerfield to Grady Memorial Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Patterson also said her family had been notified. There are no suspects at this time, according to Patterson. “Detectives are out there right now following up on leads that have been coming in since then,” he said. Burch Officers were called at 7:30 p.m. to the Oak Ridge Apartments , 109 E. 17th St., to speak with a female victim who was reporting an incident alleged to have just occurred at the 609 N. Washington St. residence of 24-year-old Andrew S. Burch. The victim told police she had just come from Burch’s home where she alleged was battered and strangled. She also alleged Burch had attempted to sexually batter her. She reported being stopped from leaving the residence several times, according to police. Police reported that Burch saw officers driving through the Oak Ridge lot and he fled from that area on foot. He was stopped in a church parking lot in the 1600 block of Chestnut Street and was taken into custody without further incident. NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Thursday morning in Newport News. Shortly after 2 a.m., dispatchers received a call about gunshots being heard on Giovanni Court in Aqueduct. A few minutes later,  Newport News Communications received a call from a local hospital in reference to a gunshot victim. Police say that a 56-year-old Newport News man was sitting in his vehicle in the Aqueduct Apartment complex when an unknown black male approached . The victim reported that the suspect attempted to rob him and a verbal altercation occurred .  Police say the suspect then pulled out a firearm and shot the victim. The victim was able to drive to a nearby hospital where police were called. ARLINGTON, VA — An Arlington man has been arrested for Wednesday morning's shooting on South Frederick Street that left one man seriously injured. Nicholas Nichols, 24, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding , Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. The shooting happened at about 7:04 a.m. in the 1000 block of South Frederick St ., near Columbia Grove apartments , police said. The investigation determined that the shooting occurred after an altercation between known acquaintances. CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — Authorities say a 5-year-old has died and his parents were injured in a domestic violence incident at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Multiple media outlets report the violence occurred shortly after midnight Sunday in a single- family residence at the Baity Hill family housing community . The UNC website describes Baity Hill as an apartment complex that houses graduate students and student families. Authorities said a knife was used as the weapon in the violence, which also involved the child’s parents. They were taken to a hospital for treatment.
