Halifax Regional Police say officers spotted a man yelling and screaming as he walked down the middle of Pinecrest Drive around 4:30 p.m. Monday. The officers recognized the man’s name and knew he was wanted on a warrant for failing to appear in court. Police say they tried to stop him, but he fled the scene and ran into an apartment building on Jackson Road. The officers responded to a unit in the building, told the man there was a warrant for his arrest, and asked him to come out. Police say the man then threatened to kill the officers with a knife. The Emergency Response Team and patrol members contained the area while the man continued to yell death threats at the officers, police say. Authorities said the 7th District officers are targets of an internal investigation that began after a man returned home from a trip earlier this month and watched his private surveillance video of a burglary that occurred Aug. 8 and left his apartment ransacked. The video shows not only a man using a rock to shatter a rear glass door but also the officers who came to investigate. Twice, one officer appears to break out into a brief jig while another officer can be heard commenting that the victim “is probably gay.” That is followed by laughter. Sacramento police on Thursday released body -camera images from a controversial encounter last month in which an officer grabbed the arm of a pregnant woman who moments later fell to the ground. The department released a statement saying officials decided to post the dramatic and, at times, profane video, which is broken into four clips, on YouTube because they’re dedicated to transparency. On July 9, a police license - plate reader detected a stolen vehicle, according to the statement, and officers soon found the car and detained a female driver. But police then began looking for a male suspect, who they say had an outstanding warrant and was last seen at an apartment complex in northern Sacramento . A 28-year-old Dartmouth man is facing charges after police say he threatened to kill officers with a knife. In a news release, police say officers saw a man walking down the middle of Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth, “yelling and screaming,” just before 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The officers recognized the man and knew he had a warrant out for failing to appear in court. Police say they tried to stop him, and he ran into an apartment building on Jackson Road. At the apartment building, police asked the man through the door to come out, telling him they had an arrest warrant.  “At this time the man threatened to kill officers with a knife,” the news release says. Without knowing whether the man actually had a knife, police “set back at a safe distance and set up containment." “The man continued to yell death threats at officers,” police say. ARLINGTON, VA — An Arlington man has been arrested for Wednesday morning's shooting on South Frederick Street that left one man seriously injured. Nicholas Nichols, 24, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding , Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. The shooting happened at about 7:04 a.m. in the 1000 block of South Frederick St ., near Columbia Grove apartments , police said. The investigation determined that the shooting occurred after an altercation between known acquaintances. The theft charge, a state jail felony , stems from an offense July 11. The burglary charge, a second-degree felony, is connected to video surveillance footage that shows Andersen walking up to a Southridge resident's garage on Monday morning in the 1100 block of Chapel Drive. Police said he entered the resident's garage, hopped in an unlocked 2017 Chevy Cruze and drove away.  Police found the car hours later in the same neighborhood but couldn't locate the suspect.   At about 10:30 a.m. Friday, police drove to a Southridge home in the 800 block of Sandpiper Drive to arrest him on the two active warrants. Barricaded person at Dallas apartments A Southern Dallas apartment complex was partially evacuated Thursday after someone fired shots at police officers and prompted a SWAT standoff. Police were at the Rosemont Apartments near Overton and Illinois at about 6 a.m. to serve a warrant for aggravated assault, when someone fired a shot through the door. No officers were injured. Three to four people are being questioned, although it's not clear if the suspect is one of them. One person jumped from a balcony when officers were on the scene. EDEN — Police have charged Christopher Raymond Ellison , 34, of 621 North St., with attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill in connection with a double stabbing that happened last week, according to a Rockingham County Sheriff 's Office news release . On Thursday, Aug. 17, around 2:30 p.m., police officers and sheriff’s deputies responded to Brownstone Commons Apartments in Draper on a report of two victims being assaulted. Officers were advised the suspect fled the scene.
