A joint venture of Albuquerque’s Titan Development and Phoenix- based Alliance Residential , Broadstone Cottonwood will be built on 13.3 now-vacant acres on the west side of N.M. 528. It will consist of 24 mostly two- and three-story buildings with a total of 325,433 square feet of space, which includes rental garages . Methamphetamine lab discovered in Oak Hill apartment | News

Remnants of a meth lab were found in an Oak Hill apartment early Tuesday morning . According to a report from the Oak Hill Police Department , on Tuesday, July 5, at approximately 1 a.m., officers of the Oak Hill Police Department (OHPD) responded to 116A Morgan Street in Oak Hill with the Jackson County EMS . While the OHPD was at the residence, officers noticed indications of drug use and a possible methamphetamine lab. The OHPD called for methamphetamine technicians from the Jackson County Sheriff ’s Office (JCSO). They then obtained a search warrant for the apartment. Upon executing the search warrant at the residence, the officers allegedly discovered drug paraphernalia , chemicals to manufacture methamphetamine, and two gas generators that can be used in the process of manufacturing methamphetamine. 2 arrested in shooting at town of Madison park, police say | Crime

Two men were arrested Sunday after allegedly shooting at others in a town of Madison park, with nobody believed to have been hit by bullets in the incident. Children and adults scattered from the park and the park's playground to nearby apartment buildings when the gunfire started at about 2 p.m. in South Dale Park , 112 Deer Valley Road , town of Madison police said. "Some of the victims and suspects were familiar with each other and had negative interactions, which is what led to shots being fired," said police sergeant Jess Fischer . The two men arrested, Maurice Leggions, 27, and Markell Leggions, 24, were tentatively charged with attempted first- degree intentional homicide . " Arriving officers observed multiple individuals running into a nearby apartment complex ," Fischer said. Two Kissimmee apartment complexes sell for combined $90M

A pair of Kissimmee apartment communities both located just off John Young Parkway changed hands last week to different buyer groups for nearly $90 million. Virginia-based Chandler Management Corp. paid $49.5 million on Aug. 8 for the  Lake Tivoli Apartments . The 384-unit complex was developed in two phases, with the bulk of the property built in 1990. The second phase was added in 2002. The gated complex, which is located midway between Kissimmee's two major hospitals, consists of 36 two-and three-story buildings and was 97-percent occupied at the time of sale. CBRE ’s Shelton Granade, Luke Wickham, and Justin Basquill represented the seller in the transaction. The second sale took place in The Hunter's Creek/LOOP submarket. New York-based Bluerock Real Estate  paid $40 million on Aug. 9 for Sonoma Pointe apartments . Suspect arrested for arson at a west Mobile apartment complex

Edward Brookins Mobile Fire-Rescue Department   19-year-old Edward Brookins of Mobile was arrested by police on Wednesday afternoon in connection with setting an apartment on fire in west Mobile. MFRD spokesman Steve Huffman said fire investigators are looking into a fire that was started on Tuesday (August 15) at the Oak Ridge Apartments located at 4215 Moffett Road. The fire was reported at approximately 1:34 p.m. when Brookins was approached for questioning and ran from investigators. A male suspect believed to be in his early 20's is being sought after by the Mobile Fire Rescue Department in connection with a fire at the Oak Ridge Apartments . He was last seen getting in this vehicle near Moffett Road. Mobile Fire-Rescue Department   Huffman said a foot pursuit ensued , but the he was able to elude investigators. Woman found shot, killed outside metro Atlanta apartment complex

Police are investigating what led to a shooting that killed a 32-year-old transgender woman outside an apartment complex in College Park.  The woman was shot outside South Hampton Estates on the 3100 block of Godby Road about 4:20 a.m. Monday, College Park police Maj . Lance Patterson told The Atlanta Journal -Constitution.  The woman, identified as Troy Dangerfield by the Fulton County Medical Examiner ’s Office, was sitting in her car when bullets rang out, police said. She was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds , Patterson said.  Dangerfield, affectionately known as “TeeTee,” was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital , where she died.  “At this time we have no information that points to the shooting being the result of our victim being transgender,” Patterson told The AJC.  No suspects are in custody and the investigation is ongoing.  There have been 15 transgender people killed in the United States this year,  according to the Human Rights Campaign .  In 2016, there were

DC area among smallest homeownership race gaps

WASHINGTON — White households nationwide continue to have a significantly higher homeownership rate than minority households, but the gap in Washington is among the smallest in the nation. A report published by Apartment List said the homeownership rate in the D.C. area is 63.7 percent for white households , compared to 43.5 percent for black households and 43.4 percent for Hispanic households. The homeownership rate in the D.C. area among Asian households is actually higher than white households , at 64.4 percent. The Asian household homeownership rate is higher than white households in a total of 14 metro areas. Based on those numbers, the overall homeownership gap between white households and minority households in Washington is 15.1 percent, the fourth-smallest in the nation. Only Miami, San Diego, and Jacksonville, Florida, have a smaller homeownership gap . Buffalo and Rochester, New York, have the largest homeownership gaps . In Buffalo, the homeownership gap is 40.5

Investor buys Buena Park apartments

A wealthy Orange County investor has acquired Brookstone Apartment Homes in Buena Park for $38 million. Patrick Cadigan , the former chief executive of Electronic Engineering Co. of California, bought the 184-unit community at 7400 Artesia Blvd. from L&B Realty Advisors , a Dallas- based investment firm with real estate holdings across the country. Built in 1977, Brookstone consists of 112 one-bedroom and 72 two-bedroom units across 17 two-story buildings. The property features a pool and spa, a fitness center and covered parking. Carl Greenwood , general partner of real estate investment firm Greenwood & McKenzie, said Cadigan liked the quality of the recently renovated complex . “There’s a shortage of supply of good apartment complexes for sale,” he said. Cadigan, who made headlines last year when he pledged to donate $27 million to a pair of schools in Boston, is one of the county’s largest real estate investors . Survivor Lisa Theri opened up about the 25 days she spent lost and naked in the woods of Alabama before being rescued earlier this week The 25-year-old from Louisville defied all odds, surviving 28 days alone, with nothing at her disposal but her will to live. Montreal police apprehend fugitive on Quebec's most wanted list

Marc-Étienne Côté was wanted in connection with the murder of Israël Gauthier-Nepton. SQ Police officers have arrested one of the 10 most wanted fugitives in Quebec.  Marc-Étienne Côté, 36, was arrested overnight Saturday in Montreal in connection with the November 2016 slaying of Israël Gauthier-Nepton, 27, in Jonquière. Montreal police arrested Côté around 1:30 a.m. in a Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie apartment.   The Sûreté du Québec had been searching for Côté since November and had placed him on its most wanted list. He was considered armed and dangerous. SQ spokesperson Aurélie Guindon said Côté did not resist arrest.
