Missing Greek American woman found in feral condition in Alabama

Survivor Lisa Theri opened up about the 25 days she spent lost and naked in the woods of Alabama before being rescued earlier this week

The 25-year-old from Louisville defied all odds, surviving 28 days alone, with nothing at her disposal but her will to live.

Rodgers said Theris survived by drinking water from a brook and eating berries and mushrooms. Buzzfeed identified the #woman as Lisa Theris.

Lisa Theris was last seen on July 18 and her family feared the worst.

The Alabama woman who spent a month in the woods opened up about her ordeal in an interview with NBC 12 while showing off her horrific injuries.

It sounds just like the plot line of a television show - a woman naked and afraid, lost in remote woods. She had finally managed to stumble onto Highway 82 to get help. "It was all about finding the road or finding a person", said Theris.

Separately, Mobile County court records show Knollwood Apartments asked a court to evict Theris from an apartment in Mobile in 2016, claiming she owed about $1,100 in unpaid rent. Garner then called 911 to tell them about the naked woman.

Police admit that there is a lot more to Theris' story, but state they can not reveal any additional details at this time.

The Troy Police Department initially handled the case.

Police have connected the incident to a house explosion in Alcanar, Spain, Wednesday night. Neither was determined to be the driver of the van, who is believed to have escaped.

Just before Theris went missing she went to a hunting lodge with the man, unaware that they men were planning to rob the location.

Manley Davis, 31, and Randall Oswald, 36, stole $40,000 worth of items, including four-wheelers, ATVS, and chainsaws, the Daily Mail reported. Neither Theris nor police have provided an explanation for how she got stuck in the woods, but officials said she was with two men she had recently met.

Theris admitted that around the time she went missing, she was supposed to appear in court on a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge. How she got from their company to the woods she would not say, and much of it she says she doesn't remember. She couldn't talk about the investigation into what happened to her. Nothing but nature. That's it, ' Theris said on Wednesday.

Police said Theris did survive in the wilderness, but noted there was a lot more to her story.

She is now recuperating from her injuries, most of which are the result of bug bites and have left her body completely covered in sores and welts. Will said she is in severe pain but is now improving.

According to ABC News, Theris lost about 40 pounds.

"This is where the roots were and I scooped them out and made it mine", she said.
