Montreal police apprehend fugitive on Quebec's most wanted list

Police officers have arrested one of the 10 most wanted fugitives in Quebec. 

Marc-Étienne Côté, 36, was arrested overnight Saturday in Montreal in connection with the November 2016 slaying of Israël Gauthier-Nepton, 27, in Jonquière.

Montreal police arrested Côté around 1:30 a.m. in a Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie apartment.  

The Sûreté du Québec had been searching for Côté since November and had placed him on its most wanted list. He was considered armed and dangerous.

SQ spokesperson Aurélie Guindon said Côté did not resist arrest.
