Methamphetamine lab discovered in Oak Hill apartment | News
Remnants of a meth lab were found in an Oak Hill apartment early Tuesday morning.
According to a report from the Oak Hill Police Department, on Tuesday, July 5, at approximately 1 a.m., officers of the Oak Hill Police Department (OHPD) responded to 116A Morgan Street in Oak Hill with the Jackson County EMS.
While the OHPD was at the residence, officers noticed indications of drug use and a possible methamphetamine lab.
The OHPD called for methamphetamine technicians from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO). They then obtained a search warrant for the apartment.
Upon executing the search warrant at the residence, the officers allegedly discovered drug paraphernalia, chemicals to manufacture methamphetamine, and two gas generators that can be used in the process of manufacturing methamphetamine.
Upon inspection of the items found, the methamphetamine technicians from the JCSO removed the components of the methamphetamine lab.
Also on scene were the Madison-Jefferson Fire Department and Jackson County EMS.
One male was transported to Holzer Medical Center-Jackson for unrelated issues. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
The incident is being forwarded to the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office for review and for possible charges. The Jackson County Times-Journal will update when more information is released.
