Pastor Denies Report That He Wanted to Eat Nicki Minaj's Booty

Image
Let he who has not told a female rapper he wanted to eat her booty on Instagram cast the first stone. That's how the old Bible passage goes, right? For those of you playing catch up, Nicki Minaj posted a particularly eye-catching picture on her Instagram page on Saturday afternoon, flaunting her assets for all of social media to see. Minaj is not even a little bit shy, so it was not a surprise to see "flexing for the 'Gram" was on her to-do list over the weekend. The comments on a Minaj Instagram —particularly one of this nature—are almost always messy, as men and women alike battle for the right to post the thirstiest comments possible. But this post stands out from the rest, because one thirsty gentlemen in particular got himself in hot water with his comment. Study: Arsenic poisoning a risk for 50M in Pakistan

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – A South Carolina high school student charged after filming a deputy tossing another student across a classroom is suing the school district and the sheriff’s department. Attorneys for Niya Kenny filed the lawsuit Tuesday accusing the Richland County Sheriff ’s Department and the Richland Two School District of false arrest, defamation and negligent supervision. Kenny was charged with disturbing schools after she tried to intervene in the October 2015 incident. The student tossed from her chair by Deputy Ben Fields also was charged with disturbing schools. Charges against both were dropped, and Fields was fired. State and federal prosecutors have declined to prosecute Fields. Kenny’s lawsuit says she was arrested after she “protested the assault” of the other student and was wrongly expelled. Share this: Related Posts Advertisement

An Interview with Dasa Drndic

Image
Dasa Drndic. The capacity to see the bricolage of a reticent, morally compromised, elegiac past —and, more unsettlingly, how that past might see us — is a central feature of the work of the Croatian writer Dasa Drndic . “I have arranged a multitude of lives, a pile of the past, into an inscrutable, incoherent series of occurrences,” one character says in Trieste , Drndic’s most acclaimed novel to date. “I have dug up all the graves of imagination and longing … I have rummaged through a stored series of certainties without finding a trace of logic.” Drndic adorns her novels — ostensible fictions encircling the Holocaust — with rich archival materials : photographs, biographical sketches, transcripts, testimonies, making a kind of blackened garland of twentieth-century history. It is as if, for Drndic, the atrocities of the recent past overwhelm the capacities of both fiction and fact, that only in braiding the two can our proximity to such horror be countenanced. Just before UMass students return, 2nd fence cordons off Townhouse courtyard, site of 2014 Blarney Blowout riot

AMHERST -- In March, the managers of the Townhouse apartments on Meadow Street, after working with police and University of Massachusetts officials, put up a fence in the western quad to help reduce the number of large gatherings there. But weeks after the fence went up, about 1,500 gathered on the eastern quad -- an area without a fence. But as students come to campus later this month, they will see that a new fence has been installed this summer on the western quad. Classes begin Sept . 5. Townhouse management, working with Eric Beal, neighborhood liaison in the University of Massachusetts Office of External Relations, and Bill Laramee, Amherst Police neighborhood liaison office , put in the fence as one change meant to help make the area less problematic for police and students who live there as warm weather returned . There are 32-unit apartments in each of the two quads. Police and management wanted to evaluate the success of the first fence before installing one at the second c

What it’s like to stay at President Trump’s boyhood home in Queens, New York – now an Airbnb rental

Image
By the dawn’s early light, I searched the kitchen of Donald Trump’s childhood home in Queens for a coffee mug. There were none to be found, so I drank my coffee from a President Donald J. Trump Childhood Home insignia water glass and fixed myself a bowl of Wheaties from one of the five boxes on the counter. It had been a restless night. I had fallen asleep in the bedroom where, according to a plaque on the wall, “ President Donald J. Trump was likely conceived.” I awoke Sunday in the darkness feeling as if I’d been chasing a ghost. Ratking Rapper Wiki Channels New York On Debut Album

Image
On a humid July night , the Nuyorican Poets Caf é reeked of must and marijuana. An age-old music venue tucked away on a tree-lined street in New York’s Alphabet City, the small space was packed tightly with twentysomethings dressed in baggy pants and skate T-shirts, fanny packs slung across their torsos. They were gathered to see the night’s main act, Wiki, the rapper best known as one-third of the hip- hop crew Ratking . When Wiki emerged, all five feet seven of him, the crowd exploded. “Let’s get it,” he said, his grin exposing a wide gap on the top row of his teeth — the result of an unfortunate punch to the face that has become something of a trademark for the 23-year-old. And then he started rhyming: “ I like Sunday dinner lounging/Kids in the crib clowning/City park kids running through the fountains, man/I like the mountain.” Everything about Wiki is straight New York. Born Patrick Morales , he’s a half-Irish, half–Puerto Rican self-described mutt from the city’s Upper West Si
