Crime: Gun stolen from unlocked car; other break-ins on same street

A gun was stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight Saturday , and two other vehicle break-ins were reported along the same street, according to Greenville Police Department case reports . A Greenville man reported Sunday that his vehicle had been broken into, and a  Springfield Armory XDM .40 caliber handgun, valued at $500, and two handgun magazines with 26 .40 caliber rounds, valued at $575, were stolen. The theft reportedly occurred between 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and 6 a.m. on Sunday in the 2900 block of Cedar Creek Road . Police spokeswoman Kristen Hunter said the doors were left unlocked. The case remains under investigation. Officers are looking into whether the case might be linked to two other vehicle break-ins that occurred during the weekend on the same street, according to Hunter. The other two cases also occurred in the 1900 block of Cedar Creek. Nothing was stolen and there was no damage to the vehicle in an incident that occurred between 11 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m....

Park Ridge police: Man accused of stealing $620 worth of items from grocery store

The following items were taken from the Park Ridge Police Department bulletin . An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Theft •Jasen M. Quinn, 34, of the 1700 block of Pavilion Way, Park Ridge, was charged with retail theft on Aug. 9, police said. According to police, security at Mariano's, 1900 S. Cumberland Ave., recognized Quinn as the suspect in a retail theft that occurred two days earlier. Police said the store reported that $620 worth of merchandise was stolen in that incident. Quinn was given a Sept. 20 court date. •Keith Menke, 44, of the 1700 block of North Kedvale, Chicago, was charged with retail theft on Aug. 12 after police said he was accused of stealing $202 worth of baby formula from Mariano's, 1900 S. Cumberland Ave. He was given a Sept. 19 court date. DUI •Donald P. Ericksen, 34, of the 2000 block of Glenview Avenue, Park Ridge, was charged with driving under the influence on Aug. 7, police said.
