DELRAN -- A woman walking on Route 130 near her home at Hunters Glen Apartments was struck and killed Friday evening , according to police. Delran police identified her as Melanie Girandola, 52. She was struck on the southbound side of Route 130 at 6:31 p.m. and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Police said they were called to the area of the Sunoco gas station for the crash. The gas station is right next to the entrance to her apartment complex off of North Millside Drive . There is also a crosswalk across Route 130 at that corner. Police did not say whether she was attempting to cross the busy highway when she was hit. In front of the Sunoco there is no crosswalk and concrete jersey barriers stand between the north and southbound lanes.  No charges have been filed against the driver, Jorge Coelho, of Delran, according to police. The southbound side of the highway was closed until 10:30 p.m. while police investigated the crash. It remains under investigation, police said. ...

The caller said the highly- intoxicated man , wearing all black with a ponytail and beard, was told not to return to the bar months ago . He was now attempting to fight with employees. An arriving officer discovered the man left the bar and stumbled towards nearby apartments. That's where the police found the man who kept falling into garage doors. When told about the Niko's incident, the man said, "That was months ago." Authorities said the 7th District officers are targets of an internal investigation that began after a man returned home from a trip earlier this month and watched his private surveillance video of a burglary that occurred Aug. 8 and left his apartment ransacked. The video shows not only a man using a rock to shatter a rear glass door but also the officers who came to investigate. Twice, one officer appears to break out into a brief jig while another officer can be heard commenting that the victim “is probably gay.” That is followed by laughter. A 34-year-old woman is accused of fatally stabbing a 5-year-old boy before turning the knife on her husband at their apartment on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus early Sunday , PEOPLE confirms. On Monday, the Orange County, North Carolina, district attorney, Jim Woodall, said he plans to charge Ebony Oluwasegva with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder, according to local TV station WNCN . She may also face charges of felony child abuse and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, Woodall said. Oluwasegva has not yet been charged and authorities would not say whether the boy is her son, though he was described as such by the Durham Herald Sun and other local reports. Her husband survived , though his condition was not immediately available on Wednesday. Oluwasegva remains in the hospital, under police watch, recovering from injuries she sustained in the attack. Authorities believe a custody dispute amid a disintegrating marriage triggered a murder-suicide in South Carolina earlier this summer, after 36-year-old Jessica Edens shot and killed the woman whom she believed was her estranged husband ’s girlfriend. Edens then killed her two young children and, finally, shot herself, according to police. She left behind a scathing suicide note for her spouse. Here are four things to know about the tragedy. 1. This morning, commuters who rely on the CTA’s Red, Brown, and Purple lines found their local stations to be crowded and chaotic scenes. Due to an ongoing police and fire investigation which appears to have started near the Fullerton station around 6:45 a.m. this morning, service along the major lines has been disrupted for the past few hours. To help get commuters to work, the CTA has been providing shuttles from the Belmont and Sedgwick stations, however images shared on Twitter show commuters crowding on the street trying to find the shuttles and get into one. Other images depict pricey surge charges from rideshare apps from this morning’s commuting fiasco. According to the CTA, which has been updating riders on Twitter throughout the morning, regular service along the Red and Brown lines was restored around 9:35 a.m. after hours of delays and congestion at stations.
