Man found dead in Riverview apartment fire | Law and order

Firefighters in the village of Riverview found a man dead today after extinguishing a small fire inside an apartment complex, officials said. Riverview firefighters responded to a fire call at Ridgeview Apartments, 9600 block of Diamond Drive, at 5:15 a.m. Sunday. The fire was quickly extinguished, said a fire official.  Firefighters found the unresponsive man inside . The victim's identification was being withheld pending notification of relatives. St. Louis County police , as part of normal protocol, are investigating the fatal fire. Riverview is just north of St. Louis city.

Man found murdered in Miami Beach apartment

MIAMI BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - Police suspect foul play in the case of a man found dead in a Miami Beach apartment . The man’s body was found in an apartment building along Jefferson Street and Ninth Street, Thursday. After the discovery, other residents in the area don’t feel safe. “That could be me, that could be me,” said neighbor Lenia Duran . “I don’t know. Who did they killed? Man killed outside Forest Hills Apartments

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A man was killed overnight at the Forest Hills Apartments on Forest City Road . Orange County sheriff spokesman Jeff Williamson said the victim is 35-year-old Julio Velez. Advertisement Get breaking news alerts sent to your email Williamson said Velez, who did not live at the apartments, was found dead around 6:30 a.m. Sunday near his gray 2006 Chevy Impala , in the parking lot of the apartments, which are on State Road 434 between Kennedy Boulevard and Riverside Park Road . A neighbor found the body and called 911. "In the parking spot, his door was open and his body was outside,” said visitor Jose Velez . "I didn't know if he was asleep or dead or what." Neighbors describe a bloody scene.  Investigators were using mulch to clean up the crime scene. "(One neighbor) couldn't go to work because the car was on. Woman found dead in Mill Creek apartment; cops arrest husband

MILL CREEK, Wash. -- Police are investigating a homicide after a woman was found dead early Tuesday morning in a Mill Creek apartment . Officers were called shortly after 4 a.m. to Heatherwood Apartments on North Creek Drive . Police found the suspect, a 52-year-old man, with a cut on his hand walking around the parking lot. Inside an apartment, officers found the body of a woman who had been stabbed. The victim was the suspect's wife, police said. Detectives remained on the scene Tuesday. Police said no further information was immediately available. The cause and manner of death will be released by the medical examiner's office. 47.875226 -122.220172

Atlanta man arrested in murder of College Park male-to-trans

An Atlanta man was arrested in the shooting death of a male-to- trans found dead in a car outside a College Park apartment complex earlier this month. Tyrone Anthony Kemp , 26, was arrested Tuesday in connection with the shooting death of Troy Dangerfield, aka Tee Tee, 32. Kemp was taken into custody at a Union City car dealership where he worked cleaning cars , according to Major Lance Patterson of the College Park Police Department . Dangerfield was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in a car parked outside the South Hampton Estates apartment complex at 4:20 a.m. on August 2. Crime: Gun stolen from unlocked car; other break-ins on same street

A gun was stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight Saturday , and two other vehicle break-ins were reported along the same street, according to Greenville Police Department case reports . A Greenville man reported Sunday that his vehicle had been broken into, and a  Springfield Armory XDM .40 caliber handgun, valued at $500, and two handgun magazines with 26 .40 caliber rounds, valued at $575, were stolen. The theft reportedly occurred between 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and 6 a.m. on Sunday in the 2900 block of Cedar Creek Road . Police spokeswoman Kristen Hunter said the doors were left unlocked. The case remains under investigation. Officers are looking into whether the case might be linked to two other vehicle break-ins that occurred during the weekend on the same street, according to Hunter. The other two cases also occurred in the 1900 block of Cedar Creek. Nothing was stolen and there was no damage to the vehicle in an incident that occurred between 11 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m....

Man dies after fire at Manhattan Apartments

A 61-year-old man died after a fire was reported at the Manhattan Apartments on Saturday morning , authorities said. An alarm sounded in one of the apartments at about 7:50 a.m. Saturday, according to information from the Oak Ridge Fire Department that was provided by City of Oak Ridge spokesperson Sarah Self. Oak Ridge Police Department officers found heavy smoke inside the apartment when they arrived Saturday morning , and the Oak Ridge Fire Department was dispatched. Nearby residents were evacuated while  firefighters made entry to the apartment and extinguished the fire. A man was found inside, the city said. “Crews removed the victim and immediately began life -saving measures,” the ORFD said. “The victim was then transported by Anderson County EMS to Methodist Medical Center , where he was pronounced dead.” The man has been identified as Michael McAlister, age 61, of Oak Ridge. After the third homicide in three days in Columbus, a crowd spilled into the street on Fourth Avenue Tuesday before a police standoff ended with a suspect in custody. Tamir Harris, 33, of Columbus was pronounced dead on the scene at 11:06 a.m. near 35th Street, said Muscogee County Deputy Coroner Charles Newton . His body will be transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab in Decatur for an autopsy.
