A pair of west suburban apartment complexes have sold for a combined $59 million to investors that plan to fix them up and hike rents. In the bigger deal, Rockwell Partners said it paid $34 million for 313 units in the Huntington Condominiums in Naperville, a property that was converted to condos before the crash but never sold out. Chicago- based Rockwell aims to “deconvert” the property back to apartments by buying back the 43 condos sold by the previous owner, an affiliate of Inland Real Estate Group , said Rockwell Principal Jason Fishleder . That means negotiating deals with every condo owner, a time-consuming and complicated process. The firm wants “to help these condo owners get out whole if not more than whole if we can,” he said. In the second deal, Sinatra & Company Real Estate , a Buffalo investment firm , has paid $25 million for Timber Creek Apartments in Woodridge. Timber Creek Apartments RICHMOND, Va. — Police have identified the man shot and killed at a Southside apartment complex Sunday morning . The man has been identified as Eugene Edmond, Jr., 34, of Chesterfield. Police were called to the Timber Creek Apartment complex in 2200 block of Chateau Drive a little before 10 a.m. When officers arrived, they found Edmond suffering from multiple gunshot wounds . He was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. Police are still searching for the gunman who also left another wounded. “We have a second victim that was transported to an area hospital with non- life threatening injury ,” Deputy Chief Steve Drew with the Richmond Police Department said. The shooting marks second homicide in Richmond in a 24 hour span. “We have good leads on both cases, good evidence and good witnesses,” Drew added. PLEASANT, MI -- Kayakers paddled thhrough the parking lot of Timber Creek Apartments in Mount Pleasant Friday , June 23, as residents there scrambled to seek refuge from flash-flood waters for the night at an American Red Cross shelter . "There were people kayaking in the parking lot (yesterday)," said Joe Allen, a resident at Timber Creek. Timber Creek neighbors and people from Park Place Apartments were the largest group Saturday morning , June 24, at the shelter in Mount Pleasant High School . They were forced from their homes after a deluge of 7 inches of rain or more fell overnight Thursday and Friday on parts of Isabella and Midland counties. The rain ran off the already saturated ground, causing the flash flooding . Neighborhoods, parks and roads were covered with water. PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 2- alarm fire injured 2 people and displaced 23 at a Washington County apartment complex Wednesday morning . The fire started on a second floor deck of the Commons at Timber Creek Apartments in the 12000 block of NW Barnes Road , Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue officials told KOIN 6 News . The flames went up to the third floor, where a man was forced to jump. He was seriously injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. Another person was injured but not seriously. Officials believe the fire may have started in a BBQ grill. Authorities said it took about 2 hours to completely extinguish the fire and hot spots. Ten of the 20 units are not habitable due to water and smoke damage, and a total of 23 people — including 3 children — are looking for a place to stay.
