Study: Arsenic poisoning a risk for 50M in Pakistan
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 2-alarm fire injured 2 people and displaced 23 at a Washington County apartment complex Wednesday morning.
The fire started on a second floor deck of the Commons at Timber Creek Apartments in the 12000 block of NW Barnes Road, Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue officials told KOIN 6 News.
The flames went up to the third floor, where a man was forced to jump. He was seriously injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. Another person was injured but not seriously.
Officials believe the fire may have started in a BBQ grill.
Authorities said it took about 2 hours to completely extinguish the fire and hot spots. Ten of the 20 units are not habitable due to water and smoke damage, and a total of 23 people — including 3 children — are looking for a place to stay.
Both property managers and the Red Cross are helping with temporary housing and other essentials.
