Google Fiber won a major coup in its battle to simplify the pole attachment process via the One Touch Make Ready (OTMR) ordinance in Louisville, Kentucky, as a district court dismissed AT&T’s suit against the metro government. Louisville’s OTMR ordinance, which was passed in February 2016, would help ease Google Fiber ’s and other competitors’ movement into the Louisville broadband market by allowing them to move and install their own wiring on poles instead of waiting for AT&T and other service providers to conduct this work. This process, which is known as make-ready, requires new entrants like Google Fiber to wait months for existing providers like AT&T and Comcast to move their lines themselves. Jessica Gaha, 31, had lost control of her Honda Civic, crashing it into a tree. Checking her identification, Geddie realized that Gaha's license was suspended in Indiana. He put her in handcuffs. The case was brought by BellSouth Telecommunications LLC , which operates as AT&T Kentucky, because of Louisville Metro Government 's " One Touch Make Ready " ordinance. It passed in February 2016. The legislation gave third- party internet service providers (Google Fiber, specifically) unfettered access to utility poles in the city — including those owned by AT&T — so the companies could run fiber and other cable for their own networks. NEWPORT, RI— Police broke up a crowd in a Park Holm parking lot early Monday morning and arrested five suspects. Kyrel L. Perry, 19, of Providence; David P. Herbermann, 26, of South Kingstown; Shaquille Hall, 23, of Providence; and Devante M. Hall, 19, of Newport were charged with Disorderly Conduct. Kendall L. Maloney, 29, of Tiverton, was charged with Violating a no contact order. According to the police report, around 1:40 a.m., officers were called for a crowd of disorderly people at 2 Park Holm. Between 20 and 25 people were in the parking lot. Some were running away as police arrived. Maloney's family was standing by his car and angry because some people had shattered his windshield. Maloney told police he had been arrested Saturday night for violating a no contact order involving his children's mother. Law-enforcement officials are investigating an alleged stabbing at a Remington apartment complex that took reportedly took place last night. Around 7 p.m. on July 26, Fauquier County Sheriff ’s Office deputies responded to the Fauquier Hospital emergency room for reports of a 25-year-old man suffering a stab wound to his arm. The man told deputies he was stabbed in the arm during an altercation at the Remington Garden Apartments in the 400 block of North Church Street An investigation resulted in the arrest of Michael Dean Turner , 38, of Remington, said Sgt. James Hartman, public information officer for the sheriff’s office. Turner was charged with malicious wounding. He is being held at the Fauquier County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Fauquier County General District Court on Sept. 6.
