At least four break-ins have been reported.
Law enforcement in West Michigan have apprehended a pair of suspects after a series of break-ins in Jamestown Township.
After receiving several tips through Silent Observer, two suspects were arrested in Wyoming near the area near 28th Street and Burlingame Avenue at an apartment complex just before 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23. Within two hours of an initial press release from the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, the suspects were arrested by the Wyoming Police Department.
Police detained the two suspects, to be named later, as they were attempting to leave the apartment complex.
The male suspect is 35 years old and according to Capt. Mark Bennett with the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, has an extensive criminal history. A female suspect, 22 years old, was apprehended at the same time and both will be lodged at the Ottawa County jail on home invasion charges. Names will be released pending arraignment.
Police found several stolen articles related to crimes in Ottawa and Kent counties. The incident remains under investigation.
The break-ins include three home invasions, several larcenies from vehicles and at least one business break-in. Bennett said several thousand dollars worth of property was stolen.
These break-ins took place between Thursday, Aug. 10, and Wednesday, Aug. 23. Credit cards, electronics and cash were taken by the suspects. Bennett said the most concerning item stolen was a handgun, taken from one of the home invasions.
While forced entry was used in most of these crimes, the time of day the incidents took place varied.
Bennett said arraignment of the individuals will take place either Thursday or Friday.
