Mobile fire investigators searching for WeMo apartment arsonist

MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — 

According to Steve Huffman from Mobile Fire-Rescue, fire Investigators are still searching for a suspect believed to have set a fire on Tuesday, August 15 at West Mobile's Oak Ridge Apartments.

The fire was reported at approximately 1:34 pm.

When the suspect was approached for questioning he ran from investigators and a foot pursuit ensued.

Witnesses believe the suspect was picked up in a vehicle later.

The driver of the vehicle could also face charges.

The suspect is a black male believed to be in his late teens or early 20's. He is wanted for possible Arson 1st, Resisting Arrest and Failure to Obey an Officer.

Investigators are asking anyone with information regarding the fire or suspect to please call 251-208-7311 or 251-402-4407.
