NASHVILLE – Officially known as the Low- Income Housing Tax Credit Program administered by the Tennessee Housing Development Agency , an initiative that could have brought up to three housing developments to Sevier County resulted in none of the three proposals being selected for awards of tax credits. Had any of the three proposals been approved, the development would have represented the first time since 2012 that a multifamily housing development in Sevier County received state allocations in the form of tax credits from the agency. Proposals for tax credits were made in February by private developers across Tennessee for either the construction of new units or the rehabilitation of existing units. On Tuesday, THDA released the results of its ranking system for projects proposed across the state. Quinn, 34, of the 1700 block of Pavilion Way, Park Ridge, was charged with retail theft on Aug. 9, police said. According to police, security at Mariano's, 1900 S. Cumberland Ave., recognized Quinn as the suspect in a retail theft that occurred two days earlier. Police said the store reported that $620 worth of merchandise was stolen in that incident. Quinn was given a Sept. 20 court date. •Keith Menke, 44, of the 1700 block of North Kedvale, Chicago, was charged with retail theft on Aug. 12 after police said he was accused of stealing $202 worth of baby formula from Mariano's, 1900 S. Cumberland Ave. He was given a Sept. 19 court date. DUI •Donald P. Ericksen, 34, of the 2000 block of Glenview Avenue, Park Ridge, was charged with driving under the influence on Aug. 7, police said. Apartment hunters may soon have another option when shopping for an affordable place to rent in Round Rock. The Round Rock City Council passed a resolution of non-objection last week allowing Pedcor , the developer of the Shadow Ridge Apartments , to move forward with efforts to receive state tax incentives to help develop the complex. A 61-year-old man died after a fire was reported at the Manhattan Apartments on Saturday morning , authorities said. An alarm sounded in one of the apartments at about 7:50 a.m. Saturday, according to information from the Oak Ridge Fire Department that was provided by City of Oak Ridge spokesperson Sarah Self. Oak Ridge Police Department officers found heavy smoke inside the apartment when they arrived Saturday morning , and the Oak Ridge Fire Department was dispatched. Nearby residents were evacuated while  firefighters made entry to the apartment and extinguished the fire. A man was found inside, the city said. “Crews removed the victim and immediately began life -saving measures,” the ORFD said. “The victim was then transported by Anderson County EMS to Methodist Medical Center , where he was pronounced dead.” The man has been identified as Michael McAlister, age 61, of Oak Ridge.
