Two Men Arrested in the City for Alleged Narcotics Trafficking | News

WILLIAMSPORT -- Two men were arrested and committed to Lycoming County Prison on Saturday, August 19, after police raided an apartment on Glenwood Avenue and found marijuana , traces of heroin and paraphernalia. According to an affidavit by a Williamsport Bureau of Police officer, he was patrolling the 400 block of Glenwood Avenue, a known narcotics trafficking area , around 10:46 a.m. The officer noticed a gray Dodge Charger rental car with a Georgia license plate parked in front of an apartment building known for narcotics trafficking. The officer had observed the vehicle driving through the 700 block of Center Street, also a known narcotics area, moments before. Young Park Ridge woman found slain in her Florida apartment

PARK RIDGE — Police are investigating the killing of a Park Ridge woman found dead inside her Florida apartment on Tuesday. The body of Nicole Franco, 19, was found early Tuesday morning in her Oakland Park apartment , the Broward County Sheriff ’s Office said on Thursday. Franco had called 911 at 3:29 a.m. to report that someone was breaking into her home, but only gave dispatchers the apartment complex's address, not her apartment number, investigators said. Officers went door-to-door at Bridgewater Place, looking for signs of a break-in. They found an open sliding glass door to a first-floor apartment, and found Franco's body inside, investigators said. Authorities have not yet released information on how Franco was killed, but said her death is being investigated as a homicide. Halifax Regional Police say officers spotted a man yelling and screaming as he walked down the middle of Pinecrest Drive around 4:30 p.m. Monday. The officers recognized the man’s name and knew he was wanted on a warrant for failing to appear in court. Police say they tried to stop him, but he fled the scene and ran into an apartment building on Jackson Road. The officers responded to a unit in the building, told the man there was a warrant for his arrest, and asked him to come out. Police say the man then threatened to kill the officers with a knife. The Emergency Response Team and patrol members contained the area while the man continued to yell death threats at the officers, police say. Woman found dead in Mill Creek apartment; cops arrest husband

MILL CREEK, Wash. -- Police are investigating a homicide after a woman was found dead early Tuesday morning in a Mill Creek apartment . Officers were called shortly after 4 a.m. to Heatherwood Apartments on North Creek Drive . Police found the suspect, a 52-year-old man, with a cut on his hand walking around the parking lot. Inside an apartment, officers found the body of a woman who had been stabbed. The victim was the suspect's wife, police said. Detectives remained on the scene Tuesday. (AP) — The Latest on a missing Fargo woman whose newborn baby was believed to be found in a north side apartment building (all times local): 11:30 a.m. A newborn baby found by police officers in North Dakota who were searching for a missing pregnant woman was with another woman who's been arrested on a kidnapping charge. Fargo police Chief David Todd says authorities believe the infant is the daughter of 22-year-old Savanna Greywind, but they're doing DNA testing to make sure. That could take several days. Greywind was last seen at her apartment Saturday afternoon and is still missing. Authorities found the newborn in an apartment in her building Thursday . Chapel Hill, N.C. — A woman facing charges in connection with the death of her 5-year-old son on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus last weekend had a history of mental health issues , according to search warrants . Police responded to a single- family residence at the Baity Hill family housing community just after midnight Sunday in response to a domestic incident involving a husband, wife and child. According to a 911 call released earlier this week, Victor Oluwasegva told a dispatcher that his wife, Ebony Oluwasegva, stabbed him multiple times while he was sleeping. Search warrants reveal that Victor Oluwasegva told officers who responded to the scene that his wife had injured or killed their child. According to the warrants, police who responded to the home found a knife that appeared to be covered in blood just inside the doorway of the apartment. Police say the victim was sitting in his car at an apartment complex at S. Weinbach. They say a woman had walked up to him, pointed a gun, and demanded money. The victim says he gave her $60, and she took off running. He was able to give a description to police, which led them to an apartment on Lincoln Park Drive . Officers say they found Ashley Sargent hiding in the corner. They say she was out of breath. Police say Sargent's mother refused to allow officers to search the apartment, and tried to get back inside while they waited for a search warrant.  She was arrested for resisting when officers tried to stop her.  After they got a search warrant, police say they found the hoodie the robbery victim described in the dryer. Man barricades himself in Dartmouth apartment

Members of the Halifax Regional Police Emergency Response Team were called in to help after a man barricaded himself in an apartment at 14 Jackson Rd. in Dartmouth on Monday. Police say that just before 4:30 p.m., officers saw a man walking down the middle of Pinecrest Drive yelling and screaming. They recognized him as someone having a warrant out for his arrest for failing to appear in court. When the officers tried to stop the man he ran into the apartment building, so they went to the unit he was in and asked through the door to come out, police said in a release. Police allege that the man threatened to kill the officers with a knife, at which point the emergency response team was contacted. At 9 p.m., police had obtained a warrant to enter and search the apartment and slid it under the door. The man came out a couple minutes later.
