Benson Gathany moved into his first dorm room at University of Georgia’s Boggs Hall on Aug. 6 with every intention of moving out as soon as possible. This freshman history major from Atlanta is currently in supplementary housing at Boggs, living in a study room turned dorm room with three other roommates. Gathany picked his housing assignment with freshmen criminal justice major Anthony Belvedere in late May. The two freshmen went onto the UGA Housing website and chose what they thought was a typical dorm in Boggs since it had the same floor plan as the others. “This room number came up as a normal, cookie- cutter Boggs room ,” Belvedere said. “We chose it completely randomly. Stayed for 3 days, 2 adults and 2 teenage boys, in apartment 6, the room was spotless, with a large bathroom with shower, large living room with push down bed, and another bedroom, we also had a play station which kept the lads happy, everything we needed was in the room (t.v, iron, hairdryer, microwave, coffee, teabags, sugar,) beds were very comfortable. We were a five minute walk to Blackpool Pleasureland, 10 minutes to the nearest pub/restaurant (velvet coaster) and trams stopped outside if you wanted to go tower etc. Charles was very welcoming on our arrival and we would happily stay here again.
