GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — A Texas real estate services provider plans to add 150 jobs in South Carolina . The Greenville News reported that RealPage plans to add the jobs at its customers-contact center in Greenville next year. RealPage offers business -to-business and business-to- customer services for the rental housing market , from senior living centers to student apartments. Company vice president Randy Johns said the business has 350 employees in Greenville now. A group of small ISPs is asking America's broadband watchdog to ban exclusivity deals that lock apartment buildings to a single broadband provider . Incompas, a Washington DC advocacy group for ISPs and telcos, told the FCC in a filing [PDF] that it should end the practice of landlords and building owners making deals with a single internet provider to have exclusive access to multi-tenant environments (MTEs) like apartment buildings and condos. The group argues that such deals, which often include payments or kickbacks to landlords when their tenants sign up for service, harm consumer choice in America, and unfairly let large telcos freeze out smaller ISPs. "The considerable barriers to entry faced by competitive providers seeking access to MTEs imperils the business case for the deployment of next-generation networks and services to the thirty percent of American consumers who live in multi-unit premises," Incompas says in the filing, submitted yesterday. ...

Public restrooms in an East Village park have been mostly locked for months, even while a hepatitis A outbreak fueled in part by lacking hygiene has plagued homeless San Diegans . Pinnacle International developed two high- rises bordering Fault Line Park , agreeing years ago to build and maintain the park and restrooms in exchange for perks including the right to build more apartments in the towers and a garage underneath the park. The restrooms have been a problem since they opened, as inewsource reported last year.
