Pittsburgh-based developer Linden Street Partners – which also has offices in Santa Ana, California – will break ground on The Quin Apartments, its first Milwaukee project, on Tuesday, Aug. 29, on the northeast corner of South 2nd and West Florida Streets.

The five-story, $12 million building was designed by Milwaukee's Rinka Chung Architecture and will be constructed by Altius Building Company, with financing via Tri City National Bank.

The Quin will have 70 one- and two-bedroom apartments with, what Linden Street calls luxury finishes. There will also be a fitness center, enclosed parking, a deck and, on the ground floor, 1,200 square feet of retail space.

The project is expected to be complete by late summer 2018.

According to a press release, Linden Street Partners has already hatched plans for further developments in Milwaukee.

"We are looking at a couple of potential sites in the Walker's Point neighborhood," Linden Street co-founder and managing partner Scott Richardson told me today, but he declined to offer specifics.

Here are six views of the The Quin, which will break ground at 10 a.m. on Aug. 29. My favorites are the ones that show what look like commuter rail trains passing by on the trestle.
