2 Kids Attacked In North Charleston Apartment Later Die, Man Charged

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC — Two children were found with injuries inside a South Carolina apartment and later died, and now a man has been charged with attacking them, North Charleston police said.

Officers were called to the Jamison Park apartment complex about 3 p.m. Monday when someone reported children were trapped inside an apartment with a man, police spokesman Spencer Pryor said. The caller had been attacked and locked out of the apartment, police said.

The suspect fled before officers arrived. Two children were found and been attacked, police said. They later died. Their names were not released.

About five hours later, officers arrested Raashid Jaamal White, 26, and charged him with two counts of murder. It was not known whether he has an attorney.
