Oak Hill man receives additional charges stemming from police chase | News

A man involved in a Fayette County police chase Monday has been served additional charges.

Bryan Keith Allen, 38, of Oak Hill, fled the scene of a four-vehicle motor vehicle accident Monday, resulting in him being charged with multiple offenses, including DUI causing bodily injury, fleeing while DUI, fleeing causing bodily injury, fleeing causing property damage, driving with a suspended or revoked license, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to maintain control.

Around 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oak Hill Police served Allen with three additional warrants including felony wanton endangerment, misdemeanor shooting near a building and misdemeanor destruction of property.

Oak Hill Police Chief Michael W. Whisman said moments before the vehicle accident Monday, Allen fired two shots from a handgun while standing in the parking lot Plateau Oaks Apartment Complex in Oak Hill.

Whisman said one of the bullets struck a nearby residence where was someone was inside.

"We believe this is more than likely why he was fleeing from the scene once the accident took place," Whisman said. "He had fired the weapon, and was trying to get away."

He said Allen turned himself into OHPD and also gave a statement in which he admitted to firing the handgun while standing in the parking lot of the apartment complex

Whisman said Allen also provided the firearm he used to OHPD officials.
