Jasper man identified as driver who crashed into Warrior River

WALKER COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

Authorities have released the identity of the man who died Monday morning when his car landed in the Warrior River just after 1 a.m.

State troopers say Travis Randall Remington, 24, of Jasper was killed shortly after the accident that happened on Interstate 22 near the 74 mile marker.

Troopers say Remington's 2012 Hyundai left the road and entered a median. He continued off the road, between two bridges, and landed in the Warrior River.

Remington's body and his car were recovered by rescue personnel and the Walker County Sheriff’s Department Dive Team around 7:30 a.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
