Charcoal grill tips over sparking fire at Lexington apartment

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - People at a Lexington apartment complex are okay after an early morning fire on Wednesday.

It happened around 2 a.m. on Fontaine Road off of Richmond Road.

Firefighters say a charcoal grill spilled last night on a second-floor deck.

The tenants thought it was cleaned up and the fire was out, but the fire continued to smolder overnight.

Firefighters say a deck is not the right place for a grill.

Officials say no one was hurt or displaced.
