AMHERST -- In March, the managers of the Townhouse apartments on Meadow Street, after working with police and University of Massachusetts officials, put up a fence in the western quad to help reduce the number of large gatherings there. But weeks after the fence went up, about 1,500 gathered on the eastern quad -- an area without a fence. But as students come to campus later this month, they will see that a new fence has been installed this summer on the western quad. Classes begin Sept . 5. A 34-year-old woman is accused of fatally stabbing a 5-year-old boy before turning the knife on her husband at their apartment on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus early Sunday , PEOPLE confirms. On Monday, the Orange County, North Carolina, district attorney, Jim Woodall, said he plans to charge Ebony Oluwasegva with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder, according to local TV station WNCN . She may also face charges of felony child abuse and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, Woodall said. Oluwasegva has not yet been charged and authorities would not say whether the boy is her son, though he was described as such by the Durham Herald Sun and other local reports. Her husband survived , though his condition was not immediately available on Wednesday. Oluwasegva remains in the hospital, under police watch, recovering from injuries she sustained in the attack. DETROIT, MI — General Motors Co. started its car-sharing service, Maven, just over a year ago, placing Chevrolets and Cadillacs in New York apartment buildings for occupants to rent. Since then, the service has grown exponentially. Maven is still working with apartment dwellers, but it is also offering hourly and daily rental cars in 17 North American cities . It also offers Maven Gig , a service that lets people rent cars to do odd jobs, like ride-hailing for Lyft or delivering food for GrubHub. Maven Gig expanded into Los Angeles earlier this month; it's coming to Boston, Phoenix, Washington, Baltimore and Detroit this fall. Maven is now moving onto college campuses. This week, it became the exclusive car-share provider to the University of Southern California. Students will be able to rent vehicles for $5 per hour, a lower rate than Maven's usual starting price of $8. College administrators will have their own dedicated vehicle to reserve.
