Man killed outside Forest Hills Apartments
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A man was killed overnight at the Forest Hills Apartments on Forest City Road . Orange County sheriff spokesman Jeff Williamson said the victim is 35-year-old Julio Velez. Advertisement Get breaking news alerts sent to your email Williamson said Velez, who did not live at the apartments, was found dead around 6:30 a.m. Sunday near his gray 2006 Chevy Impala , in the parking lot of the apartments, which are on State Road 434 between Kennedy Boulevard and Riverside Park Road . A neighbor found the body and called 911. "In the parking spot, his door was open and his body was outside,” said visitor Jose Velez . "I didn't know if he was asleep or dead or what." Neighbors describe a bloody scene. Investigators were using mulch to clean up the crime scene. "(One neighbor) couldn't go to work because the car was on.
