BROWNSBURG, IND. — Flaherty & Collins Properties has broken ground on The Arbuckle, a $ 40 million luxury apartment property in Brownsburg, about 17 miles west of Indianapolis. The property, located at 300 N. Green St., will consist of 208 luxury market - rate apartment units . Floor plans will comprise studio, one- and two-bedroom units. Among the nearly 7,000 square feet of amenities will be a courtyard, saltwater pool, coffee lounge, conference room, pet wash, study lounge and fitness center. Flaherty & Collins Construction is the general contractor. The project team also consists of CSO Architects, ecological engineering and design firm Williams Creek , and consulting engineering firm Lynch Harrison & Brumleve Inc. DENHAM SPRINGS , LA (WAFB) - It's been a while since Dr. Ben Carson has visited south Louisiana , but he returned to the area Monday to tour areas hit hard by last year’s historic flood and check in on how the state is handling the HUD dollars allocated to help. Dr. Carson actually hasn't been in the Capital area since 2015, which was before he was named secretary of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). A Queens landlord 's quest to evict a cigarette- puffing single mom and her disabled daughter has gone up in smoke. For three years, rent- controlled tenant Lynn Blue had a case hanging over her, alleging she was a nuisance who needed to leave the Ridgewood apartment where she grew up. Blue not only smoked, but also had people constantly coming and going and left trash, according to the case filed by landlord Milena Jovic . A Queens jury sided with Jovic in 2015 and Blue said the verdict put her on a verge of a breakdown. The trial judge threw out the verdict, and the landlord appealed. But last week, three appellate judges ruled the trial judge was right to toss the jury decision. It was "like a mountain was lifted off me," Blue, 49, told the Daily News on Friday. Students will be able to begin leasing University Village apartments this month, and the new residences will open in the fall. Leasing will begin before general housing signup in late March, so that students can plan accordingly if they don’t get an apartment. Of the 800 rooms available, 720 will be leased to undergraduates, 40 to graduate students and 40 to law students, following agreements made between the schools before construction began. As the agreement stands now, medical students will not be able to lease rooms. To sign up to live in the Village, undergraduates must have junior or senior credit standing . The longer the student has lived in on- campus housing , the greater the chance he or she will have to live in the Village. If the 720 rooms do not get filled after giving priority to these students, leasing will open to students that live off campus and want to move back on campus.
