A Macon apartment development sitting on 50 acres with a pond in the center of the site has been sold to an Atlanta company. Kenilworth Manor, formerly known as Crystal Lake Apartments , on Crystal Lake Circle , has been bought by Crown Bay Group , according to a news release. The company has already change the name back to Crystal Lake Apartments . “This is a very interesting property and we are very excited to bring it back to a high standard,” Crown Bay CEO Steve Firestone said in an email. Work on the properties has already begun and “some big improvements” should be seen soon, he said. A Dallas- based real estate company has bought Woodhollow Apartments , 4502 Lake Shore Drive , and plans to remodel the interiors of its 220 units. The acquisition is part of Performance Properties ’ strategy to acquire 1, 500 upscale apartment units around the state. Woodhollow, which is located near Lake Waco and McLennan Community College , is a mix of one- and two- bedroom units averaging 741 square feet in size. It sits on 11 acres in a wooded setting, is 96 percent occupied, and amenities include a sand volleyball court , hot tub, two swimming pools and a dog park. Meritage Homes Corporation bought more than 200 acres on Howell Branch Road and east of Semoran Boulevard to develop a community being called Hawk’s Crest. The project, produced and directed by Liz Garbus, is being financed by the Showtime network , according to multiple sources with knowledge of the deal. The tentative title, subject to change, is "The Fourth Estate." Showtime anticipates intense interest in the film, given the Times' many scoops and scrapes involving the Trump presidency. A Felton woman has become the second victim of a deadly fire that swept the Woodcrest Arms apartment complex June 6 . Jeff Brown, News Editor A second victim of the June 6 fire at Woodcrest Arms apartment complex has died. Christina Lynn Taylor , 33, of Cedar Grove Church Road , Felton, died the afternoon of June 7 while at Crozier Chester Burn Center , Chester, Pa., said Dover Police Capt . Tim Stump. Taylor and her boyfriend had been at the apartments to help a relative move, Stump said. The boyfriend, whose name was not released, was still at the burn center, where he had been taken with life-threatening injuries after the fire. Stump also identified the first victim of the blaze as Jacqueline Wuest, 61. Wuest’s body was found in her third- floor apartment during an initial sweep of the building. Justice James d’Auguste ordered that an independent receiver be appointed to manage two Midtown residential buildings where the landlords allegedly allowed illegal Airbnb rentals to occur. The case, which began when the city sued the landlords in February 2015, has become one of the battlegrounds in a larger war between city enforcement agencies and short- term rental sites like Airbnb. Airbnb, which was recently valued at $31 billion, refuses to release the exact addresses of hosts who break the law by renting their entire apartment for less than 30 days without being present.
