In the spring of 2015, residents of the Forest Hills Apartment complex complained about their air conditioners not working, mold in their apartments, outdated fire extinguishers , broken electrical outlets and slow response times from the management company . Now after about 18 months of renovations, things are starting to improve, residents say. “They’ve got a new manager, Ms. Eunice, and she is really, really trying to get some stuff done here,” Joyce Mosley, a long time resident of Forest Hills, said. “She has repaired several apartments, taken care of mold issues. They’ve sent in painters and plumbers.” Resident Keith Miller agreed . He said on a scale of 1 to 10, he’d give the new management an eight, primarily for their effort. ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A man was killed overnight at the Forest Hills Apartments on Forest City Road . Orange County sheriff spokesman Jeff Williamson said the victim is 35-year-old Julio Velez. Advertisement Get breaking news alerts sent to your email Williamson said Velez, who did not live at the apartments, was found dead around 6:30 a.m. Sunday near his gray 2006 Chevy Impala , in the parking lot of the apartments, which are on State Road 434 between Kennedy Boulevard and Riverside Park Road . A neighbor found the body and called 911. "In the parking spot, his door was open and his body was outside,” said visitor Jose Velez . "I didn't know if he was asleep or dead or what." A thief or thieves struck two apartment complexes in southwest Farmington Hills recently , stealing wheels and tires off several vehicles, according to a report on WWJ Radio. Police say the crimes took place at the Polo Club Apartments , at Nine Mile Road and Haggerty, and at Diamond Forest Apartments , on Halsted north of Nine Mile. There have been no arrests. An IBM data centre and office in western Sydney may have to make way for a new apartment complex and residential homes. Mirvac - which owns the campus- style business park in West Pennant Hills that is leased to IBM - has lodged plans to convert the site into “600 dwellings”, comprising 400 units and 200 houses. The property firm is understood to have originally sought a redevelopment of the site twice that density, but scaled back on multiple occasions after being refused permission by The Hills Shire Council . Mirvac’s latest attempt, however, was ticked off by the council on July 25. The proposal has now been turned over to NSW government planners for approval and potential public consultation later this year.
